Abdul Majid is a well known actor, director, writer, dramatist of Assamese movie industry. In the film fraternity, he is called as “Mojid Ka” (Majid elder brother). He directed many films like Morom Trishna, Chameli Memsaab, Bonohongso, Bonjui, Poonakan, Uttorkaal, Mon etc. He has directed TV Serials and Telefilms like “Naam Ghoriya”, “Ajaga”, “Jor Puri Haat”, “Dapon” (two episodes), “Agnigorbho”, “Hatora”, “Segun Puli Rubo Koone”, “Ram-Rahim”, “Romanthan” etc.

He acted more than 40 films in portraying different roles.

Abdul Majid died on Sunday 24th September 2017 following protracted illness at the age of 86. He is survived by his wife and three sons.
