Pulak Gogoi (Assamese পুলক গগৈ), is an well known Assamese movie director. His debutante directional venture was movie ” Khooj ” in 1975. The song “Sinaki Sinaki Moor Monor Manooh… ” from Khooj, sung by Usha Mangeshkar is a hauntingly melodious song.
Pulak Gogoi stidued in famous Jogonnath Borua Collge, Jorhat Assam before moving to Mumbai to study arts in Bandra School of Art, Mumbai, India.
Pulak’s first passion is painting. His oil painting were exhibited not only in Assam, but also in Washington Hodges Gallery, America, (1972).
Pulak is a cartoonist as well and worked for Assam Tribune, an English daily form Guwahati, Assam as a cartoonist.

Pulak Gogoi has directed couple of tele-films, short films and a television series such as “Hridoy Jetia Nodi Hoi” for Guwahati Doorodarshan Kendra.
He made an announcement in 2013 that he will never make any Assamese movie anymore as he was discouraged by the poor response from the Assamese audience for his acclaimed movie Momtaj.
