Firingoti ( Eng.– The Spark ) (Assamese: ফিৰিঙতি), one among the most highly acclaimed movie from Jahnu Borua in Assamese language. Released on 13th December 1991.

Cast: Moloya Goswami, Bishnu Kharghoria, Bhargav Kotoky, Hemen Choudhury, Prithviraj Rabha, Inu Baruah,  Abinash Sharma, Badal Das, Chetna Das.

Story: The story of Firingoti was set during 1960s. It revolves around a young widow Ritu portrayed by Moloya Goswami, who got a job of school teacher to teach in a school in Korong, a small village in Assam. Arriving at the village she found that that the school was ruined by fire couple of years back and now it is only on papers and the previous teacher was collecting his salary and retired without teaching in reality. Ritu decides to reestablish the school and starts campaigning amongst the villager. Later the school starts operative under a large tree. Once the school starts again then a so called “son of the soil” comes into the picture who is jobless and now want to take over the school. Ritu fights back with them. The man comes back along with hooligan friends and burns down the school house which was under construction.

Moloya Goswami received the Best Actress National Award in 1992 for her performance as Ritu in the movie. Firingoti was made under the banner of Dolphin Films Private Limited  owned by Jahnu Borua.
