Borpeta Doul Utshav saw first ever muhurat of an Assamese movie. On the occasion of Fakuwa Utxhob (Doul Jatra / Holi ) on 8th March 2018, Xhotro Nogori (সত্ৰনগৰ / সত্ৰভূমি), Borpeta (বৰপেটা) got a shot of a first ever muhurat of an Assamese movie, Zubeen Garg’s new directorial venture Kanchanjangha. The shooting of the movie started on 9th March, 2018 in Tezpur town, Assam, India.
Kanchanjangha Movie Poster was released in Guwahati North East Book Fair on 18th November 2018 by Zubeen Garg on the occasion of his birthday.
It is a story of Anirban, an ambitious rebellious young guy who fight against the system and the society. The story of Kanchanjngha will revolve around the APSC (Assam Public Service Commission) scam which is allegedly happening in Assam for many years and strict action was taken against the accused in 2017. Movie is made under the banner of Eye-Creations.

In an interview Zubeen mentioned that he has a plan to release it on 8th September on the occasion of Bhupen Hazorika’s birthday as he did it for his movie Mission China which was also released on 8th September in 2017. Mision China was declared as the highest grosser in the history of Assamese movie industry.
