Assamese actor-director Kenny Basumatary ( Local Kung Fu famed ), will be portraying the character of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose in Bollywood’s upcoming movie Raag Desh, directed by Tigmanshu Dhulia, scheduled to be released on 28th July 2017.
Raag Desh is based on true events, regarding the 1945 court-martial of three Indian National Army (INA) officers, who were arrested during their futile effort to fling the British rule out of India. This incident was better known as The Red Fort Trial which shook the whole country and stimulated the civic opinion in opposition to the British Government. The roles of the three officers are portrayed by Mohit Marwah, Kunal Kapoor and Amit Sadh.
The promos of the movie, in which Kenny Deori Basumatary can be seen as Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose in some shots, have got sound acknowledgements.
The film is being produced by Rajya Sabha TV, with its CEO Gurdeep Singh Sappal being the film’s producer.
Producer Gurdeep Singh Sappal was ardent that the current President of India watches the movie prior to his term finishes, as a mark of admiration for those heroes.
President Pranab Mukherjee has agreed to watch Tigmanshu Dhulia’s ‘Raag Desh’ which is set to be screened at Rashtrapati Bhawan on Saturday, 22nd July 2017.
